I'm a paper artist and illustrator based in San Francisco. I've done work creating props for marketing photo shoots and stop motion explainer videos, assets for packaging, book covers, greeting cards, editorial illustration and more. In any format, my aim is to tell a story with the work. I've been working with cut paper for over ten years, and introduced paper as a visual medium for the Facebook platform as their first full-time (paper) artist. I love the challenge of representing anything out of paper, and my tool of choice is a K2 Excel knife (the fat kind).
What exactly do you do?
Because it's hard to know what a "paper artist" actually does...
- Paper art creation
- Illustration concepting
- Prop styling
- Photography and photo retouching
- Stop motion photography
- Workshop and class instruction
- Public speaking
- Visual strategy
My professional experience hasn't always been strictly paper-related. In fact, I've had professional experience in the fields of graphic and product design and business and design strategy, as well as teaching and museum curation. Having these varying perspectives means that I love to partner with clients from the early stages of visual development to concept and illustrate a meaningful story.
I'm always up for collaborations! Feel free to contact me for inquiries, feedback, and hellos.
